Background
As part of our engagement process to implement a project aimed at enabling the employability of young people through education-employment linkages, strategic networking, soft skills training, and stakeholder engagement, the YBF requires a baseline research focused
on understanding the employability skills in demand by employers across different industries in Ghana. A critical component of the project is to ensure that beneficiaries are adequately prepared to meet the demands of the labour market and secure meaningful employment to
enhance their livelihoods and contribute to national development. The consultant will conduct a baseline research study by engaging diverse employers across different industries to identify the skill sets, knowledge areas, hiring trends and competencies most sought after
in potential employees. These will be compared with the skills of Tullow Alumni Scholarship beneficiaries. The findings will inform program design, especially regarding training modules, mentorship, and alumni/beneficiary support.
Scope of work
The Consultant will be responsible for the following:
- Conduct a desk review of existing labour market and employability studies in Ghana.
- Design a research methodology and data collection tools (qualitative and/or
quantitative) in consultation/collaboration with YBF - Lead qualitative and quantitative data collection from at least 25 employers across
public, private, and civil society sectors (e.g. Oil and Gas, ICT, Health, Finance,
Manufacturing, Education, Agriculture). - Work collaboratively with assigned YBF staff, who will support data collection efforts.
- Conduct comparative analysis of the needs and available skills among TAC members
and draft a detailed report highlighting findings, trends, and strategic
recommendations for project implementation. - Include a stakeholder mapping highlighting industries and employers open to
partnership, mentorship, or internship opportunities

- ▪ Skills demand trends by sector
- ▪ Key employer concerns and recommendations
- ▪ Gaps in current graduate skill sets
- ▪ Opportunities for internships, employment, and mentorship
Duration of Consultancy
This consultancy is expected to be completed within 4 weeks (20 working days) from the date of contract signing.
Management of and Support to the Consultancy The consultant will work under the supervision of YBF Senior MEL Specialist

- CV with short summary of the profile and capacity of the supplier to develop research
instrument and report - An Expression of Interest of Interest summarizing how the consultant intends to
execute the work described in REOI including timeline, and professional fee.
Consultancy Fee and Payment Terms
For the above-mentioned activities, the amount agreed will be paid in two tranches:
▪ 60% upon signing the contract and submission of an acceptable inception report
▪ 40% upon submission and acceptance of the final report
