STEM PROJECT BENEFICIARY WINS BEST FEMALE STUDENT

Rebecca Kwofie a 19 year old, beneficiary of the “Educate to Innovate with STEM Initiative” was adjudged the 2017 overall best female student in the Ahanta West Municipality of the Western Region.

Obtaining a WASSCE grade of 18, Rebecca Kwofie, a science student from Baidoo Bonsoe Senior High Technical School was presented with an award by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Henrietta Mary Eyison during the 61st celebration of Ghana’s independence anniversary in Agona Nkwanta.

Following her completion of senior high school, Rebecca Kwofie has been volunteering with the western regional office of the Youth Bridge Foundation (YBF). She remains one of the many youth YBF is grooming as part of the project to pursue Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education to the higher level.

With her interest in chemistry, Rebecca aspires to pursue chemical engineering or industrial chemistry in the tertiary institution and hopes to be one of the very best in the sector.

The project known as “Educate to innovate with STEM Initiative” which is funded by Tullow Oil seeks to promote STEM education among the youth in the Jubilee and TEN Area of Influence (AOI).

As a youth focused Non-Governmental Organization, YBF is committed to supporting and equipping the youth with the needed resources and enabling environment to achieve their dreams.
